My ever-elegant cousin Renae.

One thing I've learned since dabbling in photography is that a great many photographers either don't recommend or absolutely hate fluorescent lighting. In my experience, fluorescent lighting opens up a new, enchanting world in every picture I take. With a model like Renae, it highlights the blue in her eyes in a way no other lighting does. This was taken in my grandmother's bedroom, and just looking through my viewfind, I felt like I'd been taken someplace else. This lighting, and Renae's superb modeling created an atmosphere that carried me away for a moment. Every time I heard my shutter close, I couldn't help but think: I got it.

Fuck elitist lighting techniques. I, for one, think that fluorescent lighting rocks.

Fluorescent lighting is the lighting which tends to give off a kind of...bluish tint to it. I think it's pretty much standard in classrooms.

that make up is absolutely beautiful.. the best so far ...

you should take photos of the make up that u make on your models seperately. its worth keeping seperately.

The light does bring out the blue eyes, very beautiful!

I think ~AngelFetus means that you should take separate pictures of just the make up areas, since it tends to be so good. Like the eyes here.

Great picture :). And it DOES look like one has traveled through time just to capture this pic. I think it's good to try all sorts of different lighting and flourescent is a good one because it's not used that often.

That's so weird that people don't like florescent lighting. I'd never heard that particular viewpoint before... I've heard critique of artificial lights in general, but even that is only when people don't know how to use them ;P The first thing I noticed about this piece was the phenomenal lighting... you did a wonderful job, as always  Will you put this one up on your site?

very sleeping beautyish only her eyes are open... nice colors and lighting..
