For some reason, some of the photos I tend to love the most have very difficult lighting going on. They happen mostly when I'm testing the camera settings. Like with this one, with the sun mostly to the left side of the photograph, with a white dress, with a pale skinned model, and it leaves a lot of shadows, too. I call these "fragile photographs", because they require some diligent tweaking to make the lighter bits less overblown, and the slightest colour/contrast change in photoshop makes them unpresentable. I can never work on these photos "too much", or I get frustrated because I haven't really acquired the post processing skills to deal with them adequately. But I loved this one so much--the movement, the slight chaos...I just couldn't abandon it. So I worked on the RAW adjustments and when I finished, I fell in love with it all over again. It's probably not absolutely perfect, but it's still a personal favourite.
