Female Model: Andrea Christine (Model Mayhem #632662)
Male Model: Justen Phelps (Model Mayhem #757853) Wardrobe Stylist: Karen at the Art Farm (Model Mayhem #757129) Sorry, guys, this is my last shoot with Karen and Andrea and Justen for a long while. I will miss them when I move. Along with the Alice in Wonderland shoot, my other big project with Karen was the steampunk style. We had been planning it for a while, but time caught up with us, and we realized we didn't have much time left before my move, so we had to get it done. I was in Vegas visiting my sister and came back to her wonderful creations. We had started the planning before I left, but for the 4 days I was gone, she created some very cool stuff. One of them was the wrecked time machine that's kind of strewn about the picture. She made Justen's leather cuff watch and the shoulder/chest attachment. She put together both Justen and Andrea's outfits, as well. And before I'd left, I made the leather watch Andrea is wearing, and her necklace also (not featured really in this photograph, but will show up in the others). We had problems with make up artist/hair people again for this (did I mention they're like rockstars?), so I was again in charge of hair and make up. Make up was pretty simple--it wouldn't have worked to have them wear dark shadow and eyeliner. Anyway, I hope you like this last creation of ours. I still will be posting photos from our other shoots this summer, though. And may I just say: If this were a real story about a time traveling couple whose machine broke amidst one of their adventures...they'd be pretty much screwed. About facial expressions: Some of these are rather "stiff" in appearance, and I've gotten comments about it. I specifically had Victorian portraiture in mind when I took some of the pictures. If you've ever seen portraits from that era, they are very stiff, almost doll-like in appearance. It was absolutely intentional. |

"Take me away upon a plateau
Far, far away from fears and shadow
Strengthen my heart in times of sorrow
Light the way to bright tomorrows."
I can see that a lot of hard work went into this and it definately paid off. I cannot wait to see the others!
A story immediately formed in my mind as soon as I saw this. To me it looks like when they'd crashed the girl was quite worried (as you would be) and the guy told her not to worry and that he'd sort it all out. The moment in the image is the exact moment where the girl is still worried but feeling slightly reassured and the guy takes a proper look at the world that they've crashed into and thinks, " . . . oh, bugger."

Oh how I wish for soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything
